Why Be a Member?
It's time that home builders and consumers are made aware of our green hearth products so they can make well informed decisions. It is the mission of Heat Green Council to further the public understanding and use of environmentally responsible hearth products as home heating sources.
Membership will help you (and us) educate consumers. Since more and more consumers are deciding what to purchase based on how “green” a product is, they need the evaluation provided by Heat Green Council to make informed decisions.

*A note to Manufacturers of Hearth Appliances…
Our industry, like the automobile industry, manufactures a number of valuable products that may not be considered green, but they provide special value to consumers. These products will continue to be an important part of our industry and will continue to sell well. At the same time, our industry is losing business because consumers do not know about green hearth products. Our Council still has work to do but, it's very likely that heater rated and electronic ignition gas appliances along with certified clean burning wood appliances and pellet appliances will be considered green. This is your opportunity as a manufacturer to be a part of the green movement and improve the sales of your hearth products that are green. Your company’s membership will help us catch up with the home building and remodeling industries in the green building movement. Consumers, realtors and homebuilders eager to participate in the green building trend will rely on us, your company and our retailers as experts on green hearth appliances.
